Little Scholar | Xiaochun

Xiaochun means “Little Spring”: the promise of a spring day and the steady growth of a life in practice. There is no rush, only the warmth of becoming a little better, day by day.

The Little Scholar series uses simple, restrained forms to evoke reflection, Chan meditation and self-cultivation. Xiaochun is the medium-sized figure, like a young person coming into their own. Seated quietly, with no exaggerated expression, the figure leaves room for inward contemplation.

The soft warmth of red clay recalls the first light of spring, lending the piece an approachable character. On a tea table, in a study or beside your work, it offers a small, quiet companionship, allowing thoughts to settle through familiar daily encounters.

Spring is a beginning, and a promise. With Xiaochun beside you, take your time to grow.
